Environments
- Single environment
- BambooHR uses one set of credentials, an API key plus the account subdomain, for both testing and production, so there is no separate sandbox with its own credentials. To test, use a free BambooHR trial, a Marketplace Program sandbox account, or the consumer's own account. Apideck cannot supply temporary shared test credentials for BambooHR, because the connector has no Apideck-hosted application. Take care when testing against a live account holding real employee records.
🚨Important to Know About BambooHR
- An API key carries the permissions of the BambooHR user who created it. An under-privileged key returns a narrower set of employees and blank fields instead of an error, so missing data reads as a mapping bug rather than a permissions problem.
- BambooHR has retired its custom-report endpoint in favour of its Datasets API. This matters only if you planned to pull report-shaped data; the unified HRIS resources are unaffected.
