Minox – Connection Guide
Service ID: minox
Dutch cloud bookkeeping/accounting platform.
How to connect to Minox
Connecting Minox gives the application you are using access to one Minox administration (company). You sign in with your own Minox login and approve the access, so you never share your password with the application.
Prerequisites
- A Minox subscription that includes the administration you want to connect. An accountant's login can also reach the client administrations it already has access to in Minox.
- The main user (hoofdgebruiker) of the Minox subscription, who signs in and approves the connection: Minox requires the main user's explicit consent before an integration can access the subscription's data.
- Nothing to request from Minox yourself. The application you are connecting from has already arranged Minox API access, so you only need to sign in and approve.
Steps
- In the connection screen, select Minox and click Authorize.
- Sign in on the Minox login page, if you are not already signed in.
- Review the access the application is asking for and approve it. The requested permissions cover the accounting data the integration works with, such as customers, suppliers, ledger accounts, journals, bookings, items, cost centers, documents and reports.
- You are sent back to the connection screen. The Tenant ID field is filled in automatically with your Minox customer number, taken from your login.
- Choose the administration to connect from the Administration list.
- If the administration has more than one sales journal or more than one purchase journal (dagboek), choose the one to book on in Sales journal and Purchase journal. Each list shows every journal with its type in brackets; pick one of type
salesorpurchase. With a single journal of each type, leave both empty. - Save the connection settings.
Once saved, the connection is ready to use. Access is renewed automatically in the background, so you do not need to sign in again for routine use.
Notes
- One administration per connection. Each connection works with exactly one Minox administration. To connect another administration, create an additional connection and pick that administration in step 5.
- Accountants with several Minox customers. The Tenant ID defaults to the customer number of the login you authorized with. Only change it if your login gives you access to several Minox customers and you want to connect an administration that belongs to a different one; then pick the administration again.
- Switching administrations. You can change the selected administration later in the connection settings. The application then reads and writes data in the newly selected administration, so only switch when that is what you intend. Choose the Sales journal and Purchase journal again for the new administration (or clear them when it has one of each); a journal code from the old administration would otherwise be used there. Authorizing with a login for a different Minox customer clears the administration and both journals.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | What to do |
|---|---|
| Approval fails or Minox does not let you grant access | Make sure the subscription's main user is the one approving. Minox only lets the main user consent to integrations. |
| The Administration list is empty | Check that the Tenant ID matches the Minox customer that owns the administration, and that your login can see that administration in Minox itself. |
| The administration you expected is missing | If you work for several Minox customers (for example, as an accountant), change the Tenant ID to the right customer number, then select the administration again. |
| Creating an invoice or bill fails with "several sales journals" (or purchase journals) | The administration has more than one journal of that type. Choose the one to book on in Sales journal or Purchase journal in the connection settings. |
| Creating an invoice or bill fails with "is not a sales journal" (or purchase journal) | The journal chosen in Sales journal or Purchase journal has another type, or belongs to a different administration. Choose a journal of the right type for this administration, or clear the setting. |
| The connection stops working after access was revoked in Minox | Authorize the connection again so the main user can grant a new approval. |
| Questions about your Minox account, users or administrations | Contact Minox support. |
