How to connect to Lightspeed eCom (E-Series, Ecwid)
This connection works with online stores on Lightspeed eCom E-Series, the platform built on Ecwid by Lightspeed. Connecting takes two things: you approve access by signing in to Ecwid, and you enter your Store ID. You do not need to create or copy any API keys yourself.
Prerequisites
- An Ecwid (Lightspeed E-Series) store on a paid plan. Ecwid only gives API access to stores on paid plans, so a store on a free plan cannot be connected. See Set up your dev environment in Ecwid.
- Access to the store's Ecwid admin, so you can sign in, approve the connection and read the Store ID. The simplest route is to connect with the account that owns the store.
1. Find your Store ID
Your Store ID is a number that identifies your store. You can find it in either of these places:
- In the Ecwid admin on the web: it is shown at the bottom left of every admin page, and it
is also part of the address in your browser. For example, in
https://my.ecwid.com/store/38396052#dashboardthe Store ID is38396052. - In the Ecwid mobile app: go to Store > Settings.
Copy the number only, with no spaces, slashes or other characters.
2. Connect in Vault
- Open the Lightspeed eCom connection in Vault.
- Enter your Store ID in the Store Id field and authorise the app.
- When you are taken to Ecwid, sign in with the Ecwid account for the store you are connecting.
- Approve the request. Ecwid sends you back to Vault and the connection is saved.
The Store ID you enter and the store you approve on Ecwid must be the same store.
Notes
- Access does not need renewing. Ecwid access tokens do not expire, so the connection stays active without any periodic re-authorisation. It keeps working until the app is removed from your store.
- Removing the app ends access. If you uninstall or remove the app from your Ecwid store, the connection stops working. To restore it, authorise again in Vault.
- One connection per store. Each connection points at the single Store ID you entered. To connect another store, create another connection with that store's Store ID.
- This connection is for Lightspeed eCom E-Series (Ecwid) stores.
Troubleshooting
The connection does not work after I authorised it. Check these in order:
- The Store ID in Vault is exactly the number from your Ecwid admin, with no extra characters.
- The Store ID belongs to the same store you approved on the Ecwid sign-in screen.
- The store is on a paid Ecwid plan. Stores on free plans have no API access.
The connection worked and later stopped. The most likely cause is that the app was removed from your Ecwid store. Check your store's installed apps, and check that the store is still on a paid Ecwid plan, then authorise again in Vault.
I cannot find the Store ID.
Sign in to the Ecwid admin on the web and look at the bottom left of any page, or at the number
after /store/ in the address bar.
