Environments
- Single environment
- Lexware Office runs one environment (api.lexware.io). Testing and production use the same kind of credential — there are no separate development credentials to swap in later.
- Testing
- Every call hits a live account and creates real business documents, so keep development on an account of its own rather than on a consumer's production data.
🚨Important to Know About Lexware Office
- Invoices and credit notes cannot be edited or deleted once created — the API has no update endpoint for either, at any status — so a document's status has to be right at creation. The connector attributes the invoice-deletion block to German GoBD record-keeping rules.
- A Public API key is valid for at most 24 months, then deactivates and is deleted. The consumer has to extend it or mint a replacement before that date, or the connection stops working.
- Payments has no equivalent resource on this connector — Lexware Office exposes only a voucher's payment-status summary, not a discrete payment record with a transaction date, amount or account reference.
- Ledger accounts are read-only and list-only — there is no way to fetch, create, or modify an individual ledger account.
